CONSTRUCTION SURVEYOR – METRO
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Perth-based Construction & Engineering group is looking for Construction Surveyors who can support the delivery of complex urban projects. You’ll work closely with builders, engineers, and project managers to deliver precise set-out, verification, and spatial data that supports Perth’s growing built environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for those exploring survey construction jobs, with metro projects typically spanning medium-to-large construction sites, civil works, commercial developments, and urban infrastructure programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & COORDINATION
- Coordinate and oversee survey activities to ensure alignment with project scopes and budgets.
- Ensure data management procedures are followed for accessibility and compliance.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients and internal teams.
COMPLIANCE WITH HSQE STANDARDS
- Adhere to health, safety, quality, and environmental (HSQE) protocols.
- Implement and maintain Safety Management Plans and project-specific SWMS.
- Lead by example and promote a strong safety culture.
- Conduct toolbox meetings and participate in monthly department meetings.
- Assist with occurrence investigations and ensure timely reporting.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Maintain relationships with existing clients and identify new opportunities.
- Document client interactions and provide feedback on market trends.
OPERATIONAL SUPPORT
- Follow departmental best-practice procedures and templates.
- Support the Department Manager in aligning outputs with RM Surveys’ Integrated Management System (IMS).
EQUIPMENT & INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order.
- Report service requirements and assist with equipment calibration.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
- Complete timesheets accurately and on time.
- Participate in performance and development reviews.
- Contribute to consistent processes across the department.
ABOUT YOU
- Recognised surveying qualification relevant to construction or engineering.
- Previous experience in a Construction Surveying role.
- Strong proficiency in surveying software and digital tools.
- Proven commitment to safety and best-practice work methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support the growth of others.
DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
- Experience on regional or remote projects.
- Exposure to major civil, infrastructure, or resources projects.
- Current White Card and driver’s licence.
