SENIOR SERVICE LOCATOR

ABOUT THE ROLE

As RM Surveys strengthens its Utility Mapping capability, we’re looking for driven Senior Service Locators to guide complex underground asset mapping projects. It’s a standout opportunity for professionals seeking senior-level underground utility locator jobs within a trusted WA surveying provider.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the utility mapping process using advanced techniques to locate and document underground services with precision.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed reports on identified utilities, ensuring all findings are recorded to the highest standard.
  • Operate and guide the safe use of locating equipment, such as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Electro-magnetic Locating devices (wands), potholing, and non-destructive digging tools.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members, ensuring consistent adherence to procedures and safe practice.

ABOUT YOU

  • A minimum of two (2) years of proven experience in underground service locating, including proficiency with GPR and Electro-magnetic devices.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple client interactions and team collaborations effectively.
  • A commitment to precise utility documentation and adherence to HSEQ regulations.
  • A strong work ethic with a positive attitude and the ability to thrive in an independent work environment.
  • Mandatory: Valid Australian driver’s license and White Card.
  • Certloc Accreditation.
  • ATCO High-Pressure Gas Accreditation (advantageous).
  • Concrete Scanning Experience advantageous).

DESIRABLE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL

  • Defence Common Access Card (DCAC).
  • Familiarity with vacuum excavation methods.
  • Recent Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Locate underground utilities using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), electromagnetic locating equipment, potholing and non-destructive digging tools.
  • Capture, record and document underground services to required quality standards.
  • Assist with the safe use, care, and routine maintenance of locating and survey equipment.
  • Work alongside engineers, project managers and other RM Surveys people across a wide range of civil, construction and utilities projects.
  • Contribute to project safety, HSEQ compliance and responsible onsite practices.
