The Reference Mark – Issue 6, March 2026
In This Issue- A Message from the CEO

As we move further into 2026, it is clear that the pace of change across Western Australia’s built environment is not slowing.
Housing demand remains strong, planning reform continues to reshape how our cities grow, and major investment across energy and infrastructure is driving increasingly complex project environments. At the same time, our profession is navigating important conversations around workforce sustainability and the future structure of surveying in Australia.
For RM Surveys, these shifts reinforce the importance of preparation, capability and long-term thinking.
Over recent months, we have continued investing in technology, expanding our Utility Mapping capability, strengthening specialist services such as Dimensional Control, and progressing the next chapter of our Cadastral leadership as activity across the property sector accelerates. These are deliberate steps to ensure we remain aligned with where the market is heading, not just where it has been.
As our team grows beyond 100 people, maintaining a strong culture remains equally important. Events like our annual Family Fun Day are a reminder that behind every project milestone is a broader community of people who make that delivery possible.
The scale and complexity of the work ahead is significant. So too is the opportunity. We look forward to continuing to support our clients with the precision, discipline and professionalism that define our business.
Peter Marcello.
